The Candle Maker

I’m a smoker. One thing I (and probably most other people) don’t like about it is the smell. So, whenever I smoke in the house I usually burn a candle at the same time. It helps get rid of the smell of smoke (even an unscented candle). It works a treat.

I burn all different kinds of candles; tall to short, fat to thin, scented and unscented. One thing that all of them seem to have in common is that they never seem to burn out completely. There’s always some of the wax left over after the wick has burnt away, especially with the bigger candles. Why is that? It’s a waste if you ask me. Even though candles aren’t all that expensve, I don’t like seeing things go to waste.

So, I’ve been thinking about trying my hand at making them myself. Surely it can’t be all that difficult. Can it? I’ve always been relatively good with my hands and I think it would make a good hobby. You never know… maybe I could even end up selling some :)

Whether or not making them myself will help reduce the amount of wasted wax is another thing. Oh and by and by, burning scented candles can really help you relax. Vanilla scented candles are my favourite so far ;)
